Bem hajas, Eduardo.
Eduardo Sardinha was born in Viana do Castelo, in 1970 and died 44 years later, on 28 November 2015.
Eduardo worked as a music journalist and also as a DJ. He was definitely keen on music, cinema, photography and poetry. He worked for many sites, such as musicnet and wolf-ear. Furthermore, Eduardo collaborated with Number One Network (Rock in the UK and Casey’s Top 40) and wrote for New Musical Express and Blitz, two famous music magazines. He had the chance to interview Richey James from the band Manic Street Preachers.
As a co-worker, Eduardo also played an important role in RTP, Rádio Alto Minho, Rádio Clube Viana, Rádio Geice, Rádio Barca and TSF.
Eduardo helped establish some associations such as Ao Norte, Contagiarte, Chã das Eiras and AISCA and organized many events in his hometown of which Encontros de Viana – Cinema e Video is an example. In addition, Eduardo developed a partnership with Fundação de Serralves and with many artists (photographers, musicians).
As a DJ, solo or with DJ Scotch in the project Panthemusic, he performed in places like Radio, Tendinha dos Clérigos, Eira, Maxime and Nasoni.
Eduardo held several solo photography exhibitions and participated in collective ones, too.
Poetry was another passion and he wrote it throughout his short life. His book Eu sou três was published posthumously, one year after his death.
Eduardo Sardinha was one of those "Vianenses" who really made a difference in Portuguese culture.
